I’m in awe for what our female bodies go through, what we're capable of, and how we can recover from trauma or surgeries and keep coming back for more. There is little that is stronger than a woman. My inspiration comes from a desire to help women feel empowered and strong for their births and their roles as moms. Prenatal Yoga is a fantastic part of a pregnancy.
What to expect in a Prenatal Yoga class:
I enjoy planning classes based on what is happening for women's pregnant bodies in different months, how to use yoga to ease any discomfort from pregnancy, to prepare for birth, to feel strong in labor, and what to avoid as a pregnancy progresses.
In each Prenatal Yoga class, we will work on seated meditation or breath work to find calm and relaxation, then we will move through warm up poses to bring movement to the spine, hips, shoulders, and pelvis. There will be some flowing sequences and challenge poses to bring strength and focus into the practice. Prenatal Yoga with Jodi will always include work with the pelvic floor, strengthening lateral hips and glutes, and opening the chest. The classes vary from 60 minutes to 75 minutes dependent on location. Prenatal Yoga includes a time also to connect with other women who are going thru the same journey with you.
